Everyone loves a stylish pair of boots. Cute and functional, boots can protect your dog’s delicate tootsies from salty roads, hot pavement, snow, ice, mud, broken glass and other outside debris.
For older dogs, who may be a little less steady on their legs, a good pair of boots can also aid in steadying him on slippery floors and icy streets. For dogs with hip dysplasia, boots can give him extra cushioning to alleviate pain during walks and playtime. Basically, when your dog’s hip is hurting, he will tend to lift pressure of the paw, or limp. Boots can create a softer, more comfortable placement of his paws and help him to distribute his weight more evenly.
To size your dog for a pair of boots. use the size chart that is usually available for print on websites that offer dog shoes. Place his paw on the cutouts, lifting extra fur above the paw. Measuring from the back of the pad to the end of the toenail, find the outline that matches your pup’s paw best. Also refer to the weight size chart, and take his weight and breed into account as well.
Those little doggie bows are barettes are so cute, but its sometimes kind-of hard to get them to stay in place. Here are a few simple instructions on how to get that hair accessory to stay in without pulling out your own hair!
1) Gently brush out the area where you want to place the accessory
2) Gather a small amount of hair into a ponytail and secure with a tiny clear elastic band (you can purchase these at any drugstore)
3) If you are using a bow with an elastic, wrap the elastic around the clear elastic already in place.
4) If you are using a barrette secure the clip BELOW the elastic, near the base of the scalp.
