Dog Boutique Owners
I have just moved from Canada to the USA Dover Delaware to be exact. I have been throwing the idea of opening up a Dog Boutique/Bakery. I am thinking of designer beds, clothes, leashes, collars etc. Unique gifts for the dog and the owners that love them so much. I am also tossing around the idea of spa products as well.
I would like to hear from any Boutique owners to help guide me in this decision. There is no specialty shop like this in my town or for some miles around. There a few groomers and three vet offices. A Walmart, Target and Petsmart. I am looking at carring a line of upscale products compaired to theirs.
I would like to know about size of store that you started with, how much did you start with, what did you start with, what did you carry, what sold and what isn't a hot item. who do you use for your distributors, how long has it taken for the store to make money, how long have you been in business, some marketing strategies? Anything else you can think of tell me that would be great advice.
