About me:

I am a 9 1/2 year old chocolate Daschund. I was in a puppy mill in Florda with 20 other Doxies. A hurricane came thru and the owners house was destroyed and they left all of the Doxies to fend for themselves. We were eating grass, grubs, anything we could find. Then the Florida Sanctuary for dogs came and rescued us. I was checked out and sent to an Ohio rescue shelter where my new owners adopted me 2 1/2 years ago. I am spoiled rotten!
I had a cat here too. Her name is Punkie Pie. I thought we would get along well, but she just goes about her own business. Punkie Pie is almost 18 years old. I love to eat her food when she is not around.

My Birthday:

We are not really sure, but we have deceided to give Beanie the borthdate of June 2nd. We had lost our 19 1/2 year old wire-haired Doxie named Johnson on that date, so we thought it would be an honor to have Beanie's birthday as a reminder of the Doxie we lost & the Doxie we gained.

Story behind my name:

When I was sent to the Ohio shelter, Dr. Bob named me Queenie, as I was able to go home with him several times and sleep in a real house.
When my new owners adopted me, they changed my name to Beanie, cuz my new daddy did not want to call me Queenie. So Beanie stuck, and I just love it. It is a silly name, just like Beanie is!!
