Cute Dog Clothes

As a pawrent to Gizmo it is my duty to make sure that he is safe from harm in every sense of the word, I don't let him outside without me following him and watching what he trys to get into, I don't let him ride in the car freely unless I'm going only a few blocks or he is in his carrier and the carrier is buckled in, I don't leave him in the car even if I'm running inside to grab something I forgot or even if it's cold out. I know I sound really overprotective but Gizmo is my baby. Seriously having a dog is like having a toddler and you wouldn't let your toddler run around outside by himself, or ride in the car without a carseat, or leave them in the car to run into the house real quick.
I am always thinking ahead and planning things around Gizmo and his safety. When I go out of town for the weekend with Gizmo in tote I have an entire checklist I go through to make sure I pack everything he'll need or might need. It's even worse when I go out of town without him because I have to find a sitter who I can trust and who Gizmo trusts, then I have to go through his binder with them to make sure they understand how to do certain things.(I made a binder of information on how to care for him while I'm away, I know it's a little over the top but it makes me feel better).
His binder includes an emergency contact list, a list of 24 hour vet clinics/ hospitals plus his primary vet, his meal routine, his exercise routine, a list of poisonous products and their side-effects, a travel checklist, a copy of his vaccination records, etc. anything someone needs to know its probably in there.
Anyways my point is, with all these pet recalls what is a pet owner to do? I'm scared to death I'm going to give Gizmo something and have to rush him to the vet for poisoning. I don't give him any form of people food unless I check the ingredients and know for a fact there is nothing in it that will hurt him. Companies should take better measures of testing products for poison before putting them on shelves and when they find a product to be poisonous they should give pet owners a good and proper warning instead of sneaking around behind our backs to remove the products while our pets are rushed to vet clinics to have their stomachs pumped or worse.
I know this was pretty long but I want to know what you guys think and feel on this matter or what you have done to better protect your furbaby.
Take care all you pups.

Hugs and Puppy-dog kisses,
Gizmo and his worried mommy

I understand how u feel, I get worried about what my Rocco eats, too. If you look at the article "Things Your Dogs Food Should and Shouldn't Contain" from September 26th on dog clothes horse, it gives some helpful tips as to what particular ingredients we should be aware of when feeding our pets. Here's the link:
