Just thinking out loud...

Ok I know this is going to sound odd, but I just have to say it. I think Gizmo seriously might have been human in a past life, like maybe some kind of buddah or a really wise old man. This is the part where you call me a crazy person, but I'm being serious. The way Gizmo acts sometimes is remarkable, it truly makes you question if some part of him isn't human, I just don't know how to explain it. There'll be times when I'm really down about something and Gizmo will come sit in front of me and just stare into my eyes and wait for me to say something, then when I tell him what's been bothering me he always puts a paw on my leg as if to try and comfort me. I know your probably thinking that's not unuasual, that tons of dogs do that to comfort their human in times of need and your probably right, but the way Gizmo looks at me when this happens is like he knows and understands everything I say. It's the sparkle in his eyes that make him seem wise beyond his years and the way he gently places his paw on my leg to comfort me. I think maybe Gizmo and I are just on a higher level of connectivity than most pets and their owners or something. I don't know maybe I really am crazy, lol. Well I'm done thinking out loud for now.

Gizmo I completely agree with you on this one. I feel the same way about Rocco and I think a lot of other people feel that way about their dogs too. Dogs just have an instinct about them that makes them so smart (a lot smarter than most humans I know) and they know exactly how to brighten your day. I guess this is the reason a dog is a man's (or woman's) best friend. Rocco definitely is mine!
